Busy & Balanced

Another tax season has come and gone and I am SO excited to have a little more energy (and time) to get back to blogging. While I was away from writing I found other ways to recharge even on the super long days that my brain felt fried. I’ve shared some below!!

Coloring- I never knew how de-stimulating coloring would be. I ordered this one on Amazon and then I went to Target and found this one and this one. I was so excited to see stores like Walmart and Target have the Coco Wyo coloring books, before I could only find them on Amazon! And yes, I like these way more than the tedious coloring books for adults…you know the ones where that are so filled with small shapes, sizes and drawings going everywhere you get anxiety just looking at the page because you don’t even know where to start- hahaha yup no thank you!!! With these markers (which sometimes you can find at TJ Maxx) it makes it so fun, I am not at the expert level of making designs I just simply color or sometimes shade and that’s more than enough to help me wind down.

Reading- I won’t lie I have not read as much as I typically like to because I have been in such a reading funk! However, I did read Wilder from Rebecca Yarros at the beginning of February and I LOVED it! Anything written by Rebecca Yarros I always love. BUT if I stick to only one author then I really struggle to get into any other authors/ books. Right now, I am reading The Gingerbread Bakery by Laurie Gilmore yes it’s around Christmas time and I know it’s spring but I really wanted a paper book and this one was on my shelf!! So far, the hallmark vibes are strong!

Exercise- I started exercising more intentionally this year and it really helped relieve some stress and on the hard days relieve some anger too-haha! I am trying to get back into running…so if you have any tips I’ll gladly take them!

Drinking Tea- okay guys this one I never thought I’d get with and now it’s my favorite!! Before bedtime I’ll light a candle (this one is my favorite), grab a book, my favorite blanket and have a cup of tea. I started drinking honey chamomile tea and it eased me so much I could actually feel the “calming” feeling in my stomach. I made such a habit out of it now that if I go to Starbucks and don’t get my usual iced coffee order then I’ll 99% of the time be getting a hot Honey Citrus Mint Tea (some people call it the Medicine Ball)!

Now that tax season is done I am hoping I’ll be able to enjoy more things but truthfully these are things that I still plan to do this spring/ summer because it was my little “moments of peace” activities that I still do enjoy, maybe I’ll go color and have a picnic, who knows!! I am mostly looking forward to blogging some more, it has been SO long but honestly during tax season the last thing on my mind was trying to get creative about what to write about next. Thankfully now, I’ll have more energy and time to post for you all.

How do you balance yourself when you get busy? Let me know, I’d love to know what else is out there for a little R&R!

Talk soon!

Xo, Jacquie
