Día de los Muertos!

Have you ever seen the Disney movie Coco? Whether you are a child or an adult I would definitely recommend you watch it!! One of the great things about my Mexican culture is this holiday called Día de los Muertos also known as All Soul’s Day. Disney did such an amazing job at showing what the holiday means. Día de los Muertos is a day where families are able to welcome the souls of their relatives who are no longer here with us on earthside.

I have personally never followed through with the tradition until this year. This year I lost a very special person, my father in law Mike. The strongest man I’ve ever known. About 2 weeks ago my family had taught my mother in law and I what to do to honor him with a beautifully lit Ofrenda.

I was able to find a mini Ofrenda at Target which helped me a lot for my first year doing this, I was able to build off of it as my mom also guided me through this. We added his picture and his favorite food and coffee since he used to have it every morning before the sun would even rise. He is so deeply missed, but I am very thankful we were able to honor him this way for the day.

Would you ever make an ofrenda? Let me know below!!!

Until Next Time,

Jacquie
