Meal Prep Essentials

With the new year comes new intentions. One of my 2026 intentions was to put an effort with my lunches. I would always see on Pinterest “lazy girl meal plan ideas” and I don’t like the way that sounds, after all I’m still putting in the effort to prep my lunch. So I started to call them just “girl lunches”. However, I soon realized that as much as I love my girl lunches, that wasn’t going to help me reach my fitness goals. So I decided to take on meal prepping! But, since I’m only human I still enjoy my girl lunches here and there. Since meal prepping is new for me and possibly for you, I have created a meal prep guide with some of my favorite essential items I use every Sunday AND some of my favorite snacks!

My Meal Prep Picks: Meal Prep Glass Containers // Grocery Shopping List Pad // Cutting Boards // Food Scale // Food Chopper // Bink Water Bottle //

When I first learned about meal prepping my husband Jake was already months into it. I have to give him credit because cooking a weeks worth of meals in one day, definitely takes patience and time- he made it look so easy. The thing about meal prepping I had to learn and still am learning is that I’d be eating the same meal for at least 4-6 days of the week. I BARELY can eat leftovers, so you can only imagine how this started out for me- haha!! Jake doing this before me was very helpful. He showed me the best way to cook efficiently so Sunday’s have become our meal prep days!

Here’s what I have been loving about meal prepping…eating in glass containers makes me think my food tastes better (weird I know). These glass containers have been so nice for reheating. Another essential I make sure I always have is this very detailed grocery list pad. My twin had once told me this is how she sorts out her groceries, so once I found this grocery pad I have it with me on every grocery trip, it became a life saver and helped me sort out all the ingredients we’d need for the week- it’s magnetic which is very nice to put on your fridge. And just recently I started adding lemon, cucumbers and mint to my water for natural flavoring (which also has many health benefits) and this glass water bottle has been perfect for it! I went to Target looking for a glass water bottle because when adding citrus fruits and herbs you want to avoid using plastic and metal bottles to avoid molding, contamination and plastic like taste. I found this cute brown one from the Bink brand. When I came home with it I realized it’s actually a water tracker kind. Which I will say has helped me stay on top of my water goals!

My “More Mindful “Snack Picks: Drizzilicious Rice Cake Bites // Kloud Protein Popcorn // Shameless Snacks // RX Bars // That’s It Fruit Bars // Mio Water Flavoring //

I don’t know about you guys, but as a snack lover I love when everything is already portioned. It helps me stay on track to make sure I don’t over eat, that’s why I LOVE that Drizzilicious has this variety box all individually bagged. So far I’ve loved all flavors but the cookies & cream! Another favorite that I try to always have stocked in my pantry is the Kloud Protein Popcorn! Not only because I am OBSESSED with the Kardashians but because I also love having a healthier option that helps me get my protein in whenever I’m in the mood to snack. I hope they will soon start having smaller bag options like the ones at Starbucks! A candy replacement that ACTUALLY tastes good are these Shameless Snacks sour gummies. I love sour candy, and the flavors in these are *chef’s kiss*. There are so many other options I could share with y’all but this is a great start, I’ll leave the rest of the snack details for another post. Do you have any favorite snacks you like for when you’re watching what you eat? If so, let me know! I’d love to try new ones!

Talk soon!
