My darlings!!
Oh how I’ve missed this little creative outlet! My day job is actually at a tax and accounting office, so you can imagine how busy I have been. But not to worry, now that April 15th has came and gone I am back! l have a little bit more energy and I’m ready to get back into doing what I love!
There were days where work would be so exhausting I felt like my social battery was drained. On those days, whether I’d be cooking or relaxing before bed I liked sneaking in a little bit of tv time so that it helped me decompress. So with that being said, I thought I would share with you some shows that I’ve been watching through tax season and have been OBSESSED with!
Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex’ new show aired on Netflix back in March, and easily became one of my favorites. The show is mainly about Meghan sharing creative tips when hosting, cooking, crafting and even gardening. She invites different guests for each episode and each one you learn something very unique. It’s the perfect show to have as a background show or when you are wanting to relax before ending the day. It is such feel-good show and inspired me in many different ways. Truthfully, this show left me wanting more and I am really hoping there will be more seasons to come.
This one is an oldie but a goodie. Some people don’t like it because of how much drama is on this show, however I LOVE IT! I mean it deals with preppy high school students going into the college and the career world all while dealing with love. Most of them come from families with money… and live in New York. Duh! Of course it’s going to be full of drama! Especially when the biggest piece to this show is the mysterious Gossip Girl who is the one releasing some of the juiciest “stir the pot” details! I remember watching bits and pieces of Gossip Girl when it first came out on cable tv with my older sister. I was so obsessed with wanting to dress like Blair Waldorf. As I got older I would watch episodes here and there when the show would get released on different streaming services. Netflix released Gossip Girl one year right after tax season ended. That summer, I rewatched it all and remember wanting that years’ summer to be spent in the Hamptons instead of Wisconsin (oh Jacquie, what a dream haha)! Then of course it was taken off for a while and I was still so invested in Manhattan’s Upper East Side scandals, I ended up buying the WHOLE series on DVD and watched it that way (thank you Walmart). Goods news is Netflix has it AGAIN so go watch it! Believe it or not, with it being my fourth time watching this series I am still noticing so many different things. OH! And I still am all about Chuck Bass but Nate Archibald is a close second!
Reba is also a feel-good type of show, more on the family friendly side. I remember watching this one too when I was younger with my siblings. Just recently, Jake and I finished watching the whole series! It was bittersweet to remember some scenes from when I was younger, but now that I’m older those scenes are a lot funnier. The show deals with family issues that can be very real in lots of them. Issues like divorce, split families, young kids feeling left out when new siblings are born, moody teenagers and even teen pregnancy. Although it does very well talking about those issues it do but does a great job at bringing the humor into it as well. Definitely a good “background” show that easy to keep up with.
Gilmore Girls I started 2 years ago in the fall. If I had to pick a mood board for this show it would be all about fall. It is a perfect show to cozy up and light a candle on a cloudy day. It’s the perfect mother daughter duo Lorelei and Rory living in a small town, spending there time at Luke’s Diner and having weekly dinners with Lorelei’s parents. This show wasn’t anything crazy but I still enjoyed so much!
Taking place in a made up town called Serenity, Sweet Magnolia’s was such a sweet show. 3 lifelong friends who take on all their problems together. They start up a spa and are faced with many challenges through out the show. My favorite part about the show is how they have these “pour it out” nights. Where they vent about their problems and catch up on each others lives all while drinking margaritas. Which I totally would love to get a recipe book filled with all the yummy drinks they make. It’s such a calming show to watch! Their friendship reminds me so much of me and my besties. I am so grateful for each and every one of them, I hope we have many more years of great memories!
Do you have a favorite show? If not, I hope that one of these shows caught your attention. If you do watch one of them I’d love your feedback and see what you did and didn’t enjoy about a show. Time to cozy up, light a candle and start watching!!
Talk soon!
